The league's Education Committee played host to three speakers who shared their unique perspectives on the state of education in Sumner County and entertained questions from the audience. Speakers included Beth Cox, Sumner County School Board; Norma Dam, Assistant Director for Pupil Services; and Mary Pappas, President of the Sumner County Teachers Association.

The league's Environment Committee presented a panel of speakers discussing solar energy use. Panelists included a representative from the Nashville Electric Service (NES) and LightWave Solar Electric.

Your Home and Hendersonville's Housing Options: Are They Ready for YOU as Your Needs Change?
The LWVH Aging and Community Resources Study Group brought together a panel that offered insight into what it means to retrofit your home and payment options; what the differences are between homes that meet visitability, easy living or universal design standards; and the various levels of senior "communities" available in the Hendersonville area. Panelists included Judy Williams, Met Life Insurance Reverse Mortgage Specialist; Ruth Fennel, CSA; and Robert Goodall, President of Goodall Homes and Communities. A facilitated audience discussion followed the presentations.
